In recent work,
Vanderbyl created the graphics and visual look of the America One for the 2000 challenge race in New Zealand, one of his numerous achievements.
 Vanderbyl develops his furniture designs from sketches, looking for a spirit which can be made finite. The sketches are xeroxed up to size, then refined until they become functional.
